I've been down at Little Otter Creek IBA - South Slang for close to 1.5
hours and the amount of birds traveling hither and yon is astounding. Lots
of Canada Geese, I had one Cackling Goose (and wasn't even looking for it),
oodles of Pintail, American Widgeon, Mallards, American Black Ducks, and
assorted others. Plus Red-winged Blackbirds, Common Grackles, and at least
one Rusty Blackbird singing its gurgling song. Heaven if you can make it -
though people are arriving to fish and hunt with dogs, so no clue how long
this will last.
And let's not forget the 5 Bald Eagles! So this place is hopping if you're
looking for any of the above.
