At 07:30 there was a solitary Red-necked grebe swimming over 100 yards north of the dam at Waterbury reservoir. It was tough seeing any detail at that distance, but for some reason it swam to within about fifty yards or less and continued to swim west parallel to the dam affording good viewing from the top of the dam.
