Jim and others -
Congrats on finding these great birds. What's the best way to bird this area? I've birded this spot once before, standing on Shipyard Road in Highgate Springs, looking a considerable distance to the west to the mudflats. I had a Hudsonian Godwit there that day - luckily it is a giant species as shorebirds go, otherwise it would have been difficult to try to pick out a smaller species at that distance. Short of getting a boat, is this the best location to bird from to try to see the Buff-breasted and the other goodies seen here? Or is there an option of getting a boat to get there?
Many thanks -

Subject: [VTBIRD] Buff-breasted Sandpiper @ Dead Creek Outlet, (Goose Bay) in Highgate Springs
Eddy & Judy Edwards found a Buff-breasted Sandpiper this morning along with a Ruddy Turnstone & many other great shorebirds. They also found a Red-necked Phalarope, American Golden-Plover & many other great shorebirds yesterday.
Today with their help & accompanied by none other than Dick Lavallee, I was able to see the Buff-breasted Sandpiper, Ruddy Turnstone & Red-necked Phalarope.
Many thanks to the Edwards. . .
Good luck to any of you that try for these great & hard to come by- shorebirds!!!
