Waterfowl migration in the lower river valley is about 2 weeks in advance of the usual timing. Right now at Blodgett (Windham Cty) there is a massive flock of 3,400 CAGOs, in a addition to 1 snow goose, 1 pintail, 4 buffleheads, 5 ring-necks, and a few dozen each of mallard and black ducks. The geese do not seem to be pushing further up the valley. North of Vernon the fields are still pretty much ice-bound and this could explain the stopper being in the migration bottle!
