Very nice find on the Pine Grosbeaks! I noticed that the Vermont Daily Field
Guide has them listed as being in the state from about November 1st to about
April 1st ( and not every year) so a pair in mid-July would be uncommon. I
believe they were not reported as breeding during the VT. Breeding bird
survey 2002-2007 Could you tell if the 'pair' was a male & a female or two
males? This species should be east & west of the Hudson Bay, northern
Canada, breeding this time of year. If you eBird a report there is
suggested.
