Hello,
Our department is one month into going "paperless". We have stopped creating hand drawn/filled out anatomic diagrams of vascular disease as preliminary reporting worksheets. We have stopped printing computer generated paperwork which allowed us to verify patient identity and keep track of our work during the day. We are using our RIS system the way it is intended to be used for patient identification, running the floor, tracking workflow and entering information into the patient's EMR. This has been a HUGE culture change for us and we are still experiencing the pain of change.
If your Vascular Lab has gone paperless - how did it impact your workflow and staff perception over time?
What did you do to provide/compensate for the loss of the "paper"?
Please respond if you are working in a "paperless" environment or not! I would truly appreciate your input as I am putting together a leadership presentation.
Sincerely,
Lisa A Fernandez, RVT, RDCS, RDMS
