This afternoon my son and I relocated the Golden Eagle found by Sean
Beckett and team on Saturday’s Plainfield CBC. We found the eagle on Sibley
Road in East Montpelier, where it had been reported previously. The adult
Golden flew out of the corn field south of the road and west of the big
yellow barn. It flew low over a flock of Wild Turkeys and their gobbling
alerted us to the bird. The eagle then flew low just over the tree tops
towards Sodom Pond and out of sight.
The cornfield (the one with a little “wishing well”) seem to be a preferred
spot for this bird for some reason, so that’s a good place to start your
search, if you go looking.
Happy birding and happy holidays!
