Subject: [VTBIRD] Warblers in NEK
With the heavy rain last night I was hoping for some warblers to fall out.
Arrived at Conte NWR at 6:30 and in the first two miles of Stone Dam Road I
had 2 large warbler flocks foraging. Estimate between 50-60 birds with many
Bay Breasted, Tennessee, Vireos and Black & White Warblers.
At the parking lot on South America Pond Road it was even better with at
least a dozen Cape May and a dozen Blackpoll, Tennessee etc. Estimate
another 60-70 birds. Spent much time taking snap shots rather than counting
but as soon as one Cape May left another took its place. I took over 1200
pictures so l hope I've matched their faces with their proper name. Tee-Hee
