We went to the Eagle Watch at the Wilder Dam today, and did not see any
eagles, so went on to Connecticut River Road, where we found a gorgeous
immature Bald Eagle sitting in a pine tree. I think it later joined another
immature-they were sparring in flight further down the road.
Here is a link to some pictures of them as well as my sightings in January
up until now, including a few rarities such as a Barrow's Goldeneye hanging
our with Common Goldeneyes. These are all Windsor County sightings, many
from my back yard (not the goldeneyes! ) ;). Included are Redpolls,
Bohemian Waxwings, and Pine Grosbeaks, among others.
