Lake Dunmore had two red-necked grebes, six ring-necked ducks, a big flock of c. mergansers, two hoodies, a huge flock of tree swallows seeking insects on the lake, a flock of yellowrumps, beautiful males searching trees for a meal. All were singing.
On Fern Lake a loon and a mixed flock of swallows.
A most miserable day for birder and beasts!
