An American bittern calling in a remote swamp in town was heard twice this week by a local resident and confirmed by video sound recording today, https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S56066027 <https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S56066027> . Though eBird shows no records for AMBI in Marlboro, my father-in-law (John P. Nevins) kept written historical records of their periodic appearances in the marshy edges of an old mill pond two miles north of South Pond. Wonderful encounter!
