I'd like to invite you to join my effort to get Presidential candidates out birdwatching in the First-in-the-Nation Primary state of New Hampshire, called Primary Feathers.
I'm organizing walks at various locations throughout the state. I've been in contact with all campaigns, and I anticipate that the first few of these walks be scheduled soon.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE IN THESE WALKS, you can sign up at the "Walk Sign-Up" page at https://primaryfeathers.org.
The goal of these walks is to highlight the interconnectedness of nature and promote a holistic approach to environmental protection. We need to be talking about more than just climate change.
There are three criteria for participation:

  1. You are a birdwatcher,
  2. You are somehow involved in local conservation (conservation commission, volunteer, member of a local or statewide conservation organization, etc.),
  3. You are NOT a paid activist.
This all-volunteer effort involves no pledges, no scorecards, and no paid activists. There are too many cookie-cutter advocacy tactics these days, and not enough civil & honest conversations.
If candidates are even 1% as impressed as I've been by the spectacular birds and amazing birders in NH (and neighboring states), we'll be a lot further ahead in protecting our birds and other natural resources.
While only one of these candidates will become President, others will go on to be Vice President, cabinet secretaries, and trusted advisors. We have a unique opportunity in NH to reach each of them and shape policy through birding. I hope you'll please join me in this effort.
Good birding,
Sheridan
