I recall a discussion of scroll pumps here in the past. It was mentioned
that in the event of an AC power failure the system pressure will
"rapidly" climb to ambient, and if that scroll is backing turbos, there
may be unfortunate effects upon those turbos.
If there's a shred of truth to that, you'd probably want a UPS too.
