I launched Primary Feathers this spring for the purpose of engaging candidates in a positive way that would provide more depth than the pledges, scorecards, and pressure tactics that too often dominate the NH Primary these days.
Other candidates have expressed interest in doing one of these walks, and we are working on the details. A good showing for each of these events will encourage candidates to elevate conservation among the issues they discuss on the national stage.
Let's get back to learning about the individuals running for President and their core values - not who can rattle off the best set of talking points.
IMPORTANT - PLEASE DON'T CLOG UP THE BIRD LISTS WITH REPLIES - Use the RSVP link above, or feel free to contact me directly at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>. I don't want to start any sort of political debate on the lists. I am merely sharing this with you in case you are looking for ways to participate as birders in the NH Primary. We are an important voices for conservation and have a great opportunity to be heard by candidates when they visit our state. Not all of them will get to be President, but many of them go on to serve in other elected offices and private sector roles where they can be great conservation advocates. So, let's thank them for what they've done, and encourage them to continue working with us to protect our natural resources.
I hope you can join Gov. Weld and me in White Mountains for some retail politics... with binoculars.
