This is one of the most common grammatical errors, but so simple to get
It's (with the apostrophe) ALWAYS means IT IS. It is never used as a
possessive... such as my ear, its ear....
Its (no apostrophe) is used in all other cases.
If you can't substitute *it is* for your use, then it's ---- its---- that
