Job Posting Title: Research Services Librarian (Librarian 1 or 2)
JOB SUMMARY
The UConn Library seeks a collaborative and proactive individual to serve as the Research Services Librarian for psychological sciences, kinesiology, and other associated subject areas. The Research Services Librarian is responsible for connecting UConn Library collections, services, and spaces to patrons in support of research, scholarship, teaching, and learning. The Research Services Librarian engages in ongoing outreach and communication with students and faculty and contributes to the advancement of the UConn Library through collaborating with colleagues, partnering with stakeholders, and engaging with Library-wide initiatives.
Along with all UConn Library personnel, the successful candidate makes a positive contribution to a culture of inclusion and respect in all interactions within the Library and across the University and exemplifies the UConn Library values of kindness and trust, curiosity and inquiry, equity and inclusion, and having fun.  The Research Services Librarian reports to the Head of Research Services in the Academic Engagement area.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  *   Serves as the librarian to a range of departments and centers, including Psychological Sciences and Kinesiology, supporting and advancing evidence-based practice, working with students, faculty, and staff, maintaining knowledge of subject areas and constituent needs.
  *   Engages in outreach to stakeholders on campus, continuing to integrate the UConn Library into curricular and co-curricular efforts.
  *   Designs and teaches instructional sessions, including subject-based information literacy instruction. -
  *   Provides research support, including in-depth research consultations.
  *   May collaborate on comprehensive systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and grants, and provide instruction related to systematic reviews.
  *   Assists stakeholders in using citation management tools such as RefWorks.
  *   Engages in collection development, management, and assessment, coordinating and collaborating with UConn Library colleagues.
  *   Works closely with UConn Library colleagues to advance Library-wide programs, initiatives and interdisciplinary efforts.
  *   Collaborates with UConn Library colleagues on UConn regional campuses (Avery Point, Hartford, Stamford, and Waterbury) and in Archives and Special Collections to explore and meet stakeholder needs.
  *   Engages in professional development and continuing education and is active in professional associations related to the work of the position.

  6.  Performs duties parallel to position responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1.  A graduate degree in Library and Information Science from an American Library Association-accredited institution (or an international equivalent).
  2.  Demonstrated knowledge of research and information resources in the social sciences or health sciences.
  3.  Demonstrated ability to align current library tools, services, and opportunities to support learning, research, publications, and scholarship among constituents.
  4.  Demonstrated public service skills and strong commitment to customer service.
  5.  Evidence of reliable, effective, and professional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  6.  Demonstrated ability to make a positive contribution to a culture of inclusion and respect in all interactions within the Library and across the University.
  7.  Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with an open approach to problem-solving and recommending, implementing, and supporting solutions.
Additional Minimum Qualifications for Librarian 2 Level

  1.  Minimum of three years related professional experience.
  2.  Demonstrated success in establishing and maintaining effective and appropriate working relationships with internal and external audiences
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1.  Work experience in an academic library.
  2.  Demonstrated instruction or presentation skills.
  3.  Experience with comprehensive systematic reviews and meta-analyses adhering to contemporary best practice.
  4.  Demonstrated knowledge of scholarly communication ecosystems.
  5.  Experience with citation management tools.
  6.  Demonstrated involvement in professional development.

This is a full-time position based in Storrs, Connecticut. Salary and rank are dependent upon education, qualifications, and experience.
