Hello all,

I am doing a presentation to the Med Executive Staff (and senior management are usually in attendance as well) in our health system. Its extremely brief (5 -7 minutes) on the present and future of library services. I have done some research, discussed with staff, but also wanted to pick the brains of the Librarian Collective. :) What would you include?

Just to give you some idea of our future: new hospital (two old hospitals will merge into the new one, then close) in about 3 years, will be opening at least 5-6 new residencies and hosting a lot more medical students,- we will be a medical education campus. Library Services space is small with a shared office and very limited seating. Great location in administration suite/Nursing ed/Physician Lounge area.

What new services, technologies/resources, how much staffing, what do you see as the hot new trends in library services, innovations and other things.

Has any hospital grown into a medical education campus? What new services/technologies/resources/staffing did you add? What changes occurred from being a hospital-based more academic based library? Is there anything you would do differently? Didn't work out? Did you need more staffing?

To those that want to call me to discuss, my schedule/phone number is in my signature. I am in the office until 5 p.m. EST

Thank-you in advance,

Halyna
