Dana,
The portion that you are talking about is in the reporting section of the newly updated IAC Standards. What it says is that the Name of the technologist performing the examination must appear as part of the permanent record meaning on the final report not on the images. Most vascular reporting programs already place the performing sonographers name on the reports. This new updated just requires that all reports must have the performing sonographers name on the report.
Section 3A: Examination Reports and Records
STANDARD – Examination Interpretation and Reports
3.2.8A The name of the technologist performing the examination must appear as part of the permanent record.

Hi everyone!
Did any of you IAC accredited labs see the new standards requiring tech names (instead of just initials) to be on all study images now? Our department is concerned about our privacy as techs and we’re just curious to see how others felt about it?
