Our lab was fortunate enough to inherit a complete Agilent HPLC 1260 Infinity setup. We already use a Dionex Ultimate 3000 UHPLC and I have most everything figured out on the Agilent, however, I have 2 questions for you.
1) When I create a Sequence to run multiple standards/samples I include methods at the end of the sequence to switch from the reservoir containing our buffer (48 mM KH2PO4) to a reservoir containing 20:80 MeOH:H20 then to a reservoir with 80:20 MeOH:H2O. After a run is complete and before the instrument switches fully from one method to the next, the pump reverts to the initial conditions of the method that was just run. This is only for 8-12 seconds, however, it is a shock to the analytical column that I would like to eliminate. Does anyone have a solution to preventing this from happening?
2) What is the second orifice underneath the purge valve (in front of the purge valve waste line) for? I have not found an answer in any of the pump manuals.
Thank-you very much for your help!
