.SYNOPSIS...
High pressure continues across the North Country this weekend
with mild days, cool nights, and plenty of sunshine.
Temperatures this afternoon warm into the mid 50s to near 60
degrees, but cool back into the 20s and 30s tonight. Slightly
warmer temperatures occur on Sunday, before clouds and a few
light showers are possible Monday night into Tuesday.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH SUNDAY/...
As of 337 AM EDT Saturday...1034mb sfc high pres is anchored
acrs the fa today with plenty of sunshine and light south winds
anticipated. A cool start to the day with crnt temps in the 20s
to lower 30s, but expect readings to warm quickly under sunny
skies. Highs generally mid 50s to lower 60s by this aftn. Have
mention some early morning patchy fog in the CT River Valley as
obs at VSF has indicated vis btwn 1/2sm and 3sm this morning.
Tonight temps continue to be the fcst challenge, as sharpening
thermal inversion develops with resulting in upside down temp
profiles. Expect warmest values acrs the midslopes and summits
with coldest temps in the deeper/protected values. Lows mainly
in the mid 20s to mid/upper 30s. Sunday, weak llvl waa develops
as slightly stronger southerly gradient occurs. Progged 925mb
temps warm btwn 10-12C, supporting highs well into the 60s most
locations with mostly sunny skies.

.SHORT TERM /SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT/...
As of 356 AM EDT Saturday...Southwest return flow will bring above
normal temperatures to the North Country for Monday. At this time,
highs looks to be in the low 60s. We will also see a chance for rain
showers late Monday evening as shortwave energy passes through the
flow aloft. However, rain will be slow to start given the dry
airmass to overcome at the onset. Additionally, the lack of
convergence means that showers will be scattered in nature.
Therefore, have 25-35% PoPs for Monday night into Tuesday. Overnight
lows will be in the 40s.

.LONG TERM /TUESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/...
As of 356 AM EDT Saturday...A slight chance for rain showers lingers
through Tuesday as a shortwave passes overhead. Otherwise, we will
continue to see above normal temperatures with highs in the low to
mid 60s. Dry weather is expected for Wednesday and Thursday as
upper-level ridging crests overhead. Highs will remain in the 60s
with overnight lows in the upper 30s to 40s. The next chance for any
meaningful precipitation looks to occur next weekend with a frontal
passage.

Through 00Z Sunday...Surface high pres wl result in VFR
conditions and winds less than 6 knots thru the next 24 hours. A
brief period of shallow ground fog is possible at MSS/BTV and
