Since the topic of reducing the number of messages has come up, I will don
my asbestos suit and bring up a concern of mine. It seems that lately
more that half of the message on the list are of two kinds: ILL
verification or requests and exchange lists. I exercise that universal
solution and hit the delete key because I have no interest in these
messages. I'm not denying the need for a place for these matters, but
dare I raise the issue that this list might not be the appropriate avenue?
There is an ILL list. Is that a better avenue for the ILL questions?
I've not subscribed to that list so I may be stepping out of line in
suggesting it. I don't know of an online exchange list, but it seems like
there should be one. I know _I_ can't start one, but maybe there is
someone out there who would be willing to undertake the task. MLA
Exchange Advisory Committee?
I would like to generate some creative ideas rather than flames, but I will
now zip up my suit and run for the fire extinquisher.
