We subscribe to the CD-ROM unbundled version for our network. My
complaint with Micromedex is that we cannot obtain usage statistics on the
separate databases. We started with the basic three databases and have
added several others in the last year. I have spoken with Bob Ackley and
also their marketing director about the problem of needing usage statistics
to justify the cost. Our Nursing Dept would like us to put it on the
mainframe for the patient discharge instructions but I think that is
unlikely to happen, partially due to the bundled price.

BTW, I found out by accident that Micromedex offers an editor's discount
if anyone at your institution contributes to one of the databases. They
didn't tell us when we initially subscribed. You should all check this
out. I believe the discount is 5%. Every little bit helps.
