At our institution, we are about to submit a proposal for our first
Macintosh computer. (The hospital is all IBM). My impression, after
speaking with a number of people over the last few months, is that the MAC
is still preferred for educational software, even though a number of
programs are now also available for Windows.
NOw that the the Power MACS have been out a few months, I'd like to know
how well most of the medical education software runs on them in comparison
to Quadra models. Do programs run faster, slower, do they crash, etc.?
We will only have money for one machine and want to get the most out of it.
Also, there are AV models, as well as regular models. I believe this is
true for the Quadra's as well as the Power MACS. Is it advantageous to
purchase the AV model?
Please respond to me directly. If there is interest I will summarize for
the list.
Thank you.
