I am unaware of any studies grading ECA stenosis. At Jefferson we
handle ECA stenosis as you described having done in your previous setting. I
am unframiliar with the diagnostic critereon which you included in your
email, although several schemes exists, so it may be validated in the
literature somewhere. As an ICAVL board member I can tell you this...If your
physicians intend to have thier lab accredited, they will need to site a
reference for that critereon, and demonstrate some internal validation
(correlation) of it. If they have been accredited, then they should have
cited the reference in the application, and should be able to give it to you.
I empathize with your desire to read the reference from which the
diagnostic critereon you are using are derived. It certainly would make
sense for you to understand their limitations. I hope another flownetter can
identify them for you...
