As per Paul Bierman's suggestion:
NAME: Colin Pain
JOB: Principal Research Scientist at the Australian Geological Survey
Organisation, and Assistant Director of the newly established Cooperative
Research Centre for Landscape Evolution and Mineral Exploration. CRCLEME is
a joint venture between AGSO, CSIRO, Australian National University and
University of Canberra. See our Web Page (still in its infancy):
http://geology.anu.edu.au/leme/
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
I am a geomorphologist/regolith geologist interested in longterm landscape
evolution. Hence my interest in cosmogenic isotopes and the age information
they provide. We hope to get some cosmogenic dating work done within the
framework of CRCLEME.
I lead the Tasman Fold Belt Program of the CRC. At present the Program
consists mainly of a bunch of loosely connected projects ranging from dating
of basalts and mapping of regolith and landforms to the geochemistry of
weathering over ore deposits. In many of our projects the age of the present
surface is very important to the research.
