As per Paul Bierman's suggestion.
Name: Derek Fabel
Job description: geomorphologist/geologist
Current employment: Casual Research Assistant with the Fission Track
Research Group, School of Earth Sciences, Latrobe University, Bundoora,
Victoria, 3083, Australia.
Looking for a post-doc!
Research Interests: long-term landscape evolution, flexural tectonics,
glacial geomorphology
My interest in cosmogenic dating is only recent with research concentrating
on constraining the deglaciation history of East Antarctica. The work is
done in collaboration with John Stone at the Australian National
University, which houses the relevant labs and analytical equipment. The
main in situ isotopes I am working with are 10Be and 26AL, however this
will be expanded as required.
Currently I am also sampling cave sediments to determine residence times of
these deposits using cosmogenic isotopes, however, this is still very much
in its infancy.
Cheers, Derek.
