Colleagues,
I am considering the possibility of using bomb-derived Sr-90
in bone to caste light on the probable extinction date of a small mammal
that apparently survived at least into the 1940's (and probably later),
and for which plentiful bone samples are avilable from caves.
Can anyone one point me towards (the presumably large) literature
on Sr-90 uptake in bone, and would anyone care to offer comments on the
feasilibilty of using this (28 yr half life) isotope in the above manner.
sincerely,
