As you may know, Moose users can activate their Zoo accounts by running the
"zoom" command on Moose. The message below is being sent to everyone who
has already migrated to Zoo. It does not apply to those who haven't
"zoom"ed. For more information on the Zoo cluster and migrating from Moose
to Zoo, please see CIT Web pages. I'd be glad to answer questions.

This message is being sent to everyone who used the "Zoom" program to
migrate from Moose to Zoo.
Since you have run "Zoom," you should now be using Zoo instead of
Moose. After October 4, 1996, you will no longer be able to use your
Moose account. All your files and mail will still be accessible using Zoo.
Before Oct. 4, please be sure you have completed the following steps:
1. If you use a mailer such as Eudora, be sure the following
settings are in effect:
SMTP server: smtp.uvm.edu
POP account: $userid\@pop.uvm.edu
E-mail address: $userid\@zoo.uvm.edu
Make sure that the Return Address field contains your new Zoo
e-mail address, $userid\@zoo.uvm.edu. (Note: if you already have set
your return address to your alias, [log in to unmask], you may
leave that setting intact.)
2. If you have used your Moose account to subscribe to mailing lists,
log in to your Moose account and use Pine to unsubscribe from the lists.
Then resubscribe to your mailing lists using your Zoo account. The lists
will now recognize your new Zoo return address.
3. If you use FTP or Fetch software to transfer files to and from your
microcomputer, follow the instructions for your software to open a
connection or set up a "short cut" to Zoo.
LOGGING INTO ZOO
If your microcomputer is connected to the campus network, use telnet
software to connect to zoo.uvm.edu. (Telnet programs vary according to
your configuration; common ones include Telnet, Ewan, Terminal, Trumptel
and QVTterm.) Follow the instructions in your Telnet program to save the
settings for connecting to Zoo.
If you are dialing in with a modem instead, choose option 1 on the dial-
in menu to connect to Zoo.
Once you have connected to Zoo, log in using your Moose account
name and password. All your files on Moose will be available on Zoo,
and the environment is virtually identical.
For further information, please see CIT's Web pages at
http://www.uvm.edu/cit/. If you have additional questions or problems,
contact the CIT HelpLine at [log in to unmask] or 656-2604.
