Sorry for the cross-posting. Also, since this isn't an
isotope question, I apologize for any clutter it causes on the
ISOGEOCHEM list.

I am currently in the middle of doing some ICP analyses
of gold artifacts from a Sarmatian burial from southern Russia.
One question I have is, does anyone know of any published
Au, Ag, Cu (or trace element) values for gold nuggets
coming out of the placer deposits in
the Altai Mts., Lena River, or other regions of Russia or the
CIS? [I have access to ORE DEPOSITS OF THE USSR and this type
of information is not in there. I am in the process of tracking
down N. A. Shilo's book on placer deposits.]

In Tylecote's EARLY HISTORY OF METALLURGY IN EUROPE, he
publishes a few analyses of gold ore nuggets from the USSR/Russia
and CIS. Does anybody know where he obtained this data?

Best,
Mark E. Hall
