Isotopers,
I want to set up a system for combustion of organics to yield CO2 for
isotopic analysis. We normally run lots of carbonate material, but have
never had the occasion or the need to run combusted organics.
Our needs will be small, fairly low budget, and extractions would be
carried out off line. I am leaning towards the old quartz tube, copper
wire method, and would be interested in any advice and direction from those
who have already been down this route. A particular concern is removal of
uncombusted organics, i.e. cleaning up the CO2.
I hate reinventing the wheel! Perhaps a reference to a good methods paper
would be all I need.
Please respond via the group or e-mail as you see fit.
Thanks in advance.
