OK, Steve, was this a virtual "mooning"? Actually I hope folks out
there appreciate Steve's work as our listmaster. His work makes this thing
possible, and it runs pretty flawlessly.
In case anyone is not up on the I-net jargon, a "lurker" is someone
that subscribes to a chat group or list server such as flownet but does not
participate actively. They read the "posts" (messages) without replying, or
reply directly to the author, but not the list. This may be because they
desire to remain anonymous, are intimidated, fear being "flamed" (put down by
nasty responses) or, unlike me, refuse to write when they have nothing germane
to contribute to the discussion. There is a connotation to the term lurker
that I do not think fits a vast majority of these folks.
I have no problem with lurkers being out there. But, in any discussion
group, people should be aware that they most likely do not know all the people
reading their messages. Nothing should be said on e-mail that would not be
appropriate in a public forum. (Hey, I don't make the rules, nor live by

important. I have a good idea from the contributors the kind of folks we have
involved, and the value of this forum. I encourage everyone to contribute,
