Just wanted to put in my two cents on this subject.  I am teaching Vascular
Technology at an accredited school and I am getting ready to begin venous
studies.  I will continue to call this the Superficial Femoral Vein.  

I agree, we take time to learn this, why shouldn't Doctors.  

So this is the term most techs use and its what I will teach in class.  But I
also intend to bring up this discussion and distribute copies of the JAMA
article.
Letting my students know how important the use of discretion with Doctors is.
