SNR is commited to connecting environmentalism with the other real
world issue of racism. This years Building Our Community
exercise addresses this directly. See below:
THURSDAY-FRIDAY 6-7 November
1. an opening presentation by Ronald Takaki on Thursdau evening at 7:00p.m.
entitled Multiculturalism and the Culture Wars; Dr. Takaki will also engage
in a dialogue on Friday morning at 8:30a.m.
2. Dorceta Taylor will discuss "American Environmentalism: The Role of
Race, Class, and Gender in Shaping Activism at 10:15a.m. on Friday
3. the SNR Diversity Task Force will lead a discussion on Infusing
Multiculturalism Throughout the Curriculum at 10:15 a.m. on friday
4. President Ramaley will host an open forum at 3:30p.m. on Friday.
