Second question from a student about conversion of grades (0-50) to
UVM grades (0-4.0). OOPs..... it seems at least these 2 students are
into graphs and slopes and intercepts, etc. and found an inconsistency
in the conversion equation.... SO I posted the equation we should be
using on the WEB page... just under the place where you click to
see your grade. slope = 0.2, intercept = -5.5. You will also note
that I truncate negative grades and let those over 4.0 remain (however,
the final grade cannot go over 4.0 (something about the UVM computer
program I guess). I believe quiz 1 converts a bit higher than the
given equation... so I'll leave it. quiz 2 needs a little adjustment.
Sorry....
