I have been searching for recent national or statewide data on
Hours/Patient Day for nursing for the various nursing departments in the
hospital (Med-Surg, ICU, etc.) for one of our administrators.
I found data for nursing homes and an article from 1993 with
statistics. I also found alot of articles on benchmarking, but no hard
statistics. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have called AHA and our
local hospital council. I have also tried various business databases,
besides the usual CINAHL, Healthstar, and Medline, in desperation.
