Hi all
As I sit reading my e-mail currency converter, I can not help but wonder
how many Canadian health librarians look at this in conjunction with the
wish to attend MLA. I would really like to attend as Philadephia is not
that far away. However, like most hospital librarians,we cannot get
funding when we are faced with the high cost because of the US exchange
rate. In fact many of have no CLE funds at all.

I have been wondering why,in the spirit of international co-operation,
that there cannot be a reciprocal arrangement between MLA and CHLA so
that we Canadians could get a more favourable rate to attend MLA? By the
time one includes hotels, etc. it is pretty unreachable.I also just had a
look at the CLE courses on the MLA site (WHICH I DO NOT LIKE AT ALL
BY THE WAY) I got a further shock at those prices. I am sure that there
must be others who agree.
I hope something could come of this.
