Dear Fellow Senators and Executives,

        The following is the copy of "The Gateway Resolution" as it stands
now to be voted on Tuesday night.:

        "The SGA of the University of Vermont hereby commits its
membership to the planning construction and completion phases of the
"Gateway Project."  The SGA further commits its current student center fee
charged to all members of the SGA to the "Gateway Project."  This
legislation is to remain in effect for no less than 5 years or until the
opening of "The Gateway" for student use."

REASON FOR RESOLUTION:  To commit the SGA both symbolically and
financially to the Gateway Project to ensure its conception and completion
with substantial student involvement.

        A hard copy of this resolution is now in all of your mail boxes
courtesy of our wonderful office staff.  If you have any questions or
concerns about the resolution please contact me at 862-3246.  We will be
discussing this resolution under Senatorial Forumn on Tuesday's night and
we will be voting on it under Old Business that night as well.
        Your support and endorsement of this resolution will be greatly
appreciated by the Academic Affairs Committee.  Thank you for your time.

P.S.:  Please note, that this resolution does not in anyway increase the
amount of money that students currently pay to attend UVM!!  STUDENTS
UNDER THIS RESOLUTION WILL NOT BE ADDITIONALLY TAXED FOR THIS CRUCIAL
PROJECT FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THE UVM COMMUNITY.
