As many of you know, AIS & the HR department are trying out
a new tool twe might use to deploy an "electronic" version of some
administrative forms. The product we are trying out is
FormFlow Filler from JetForm Inc. http://www.jetform.com/
Next week, a consultant will be on-site to help produce
a web version of the PDQ. The current goal is well
short of full "workflow" implementation. The plan would be to have people
use a form from their browser, fill it in and print it out, sign and
route. The software allows you to save the form data in a text file,
and later import the data into the form. This allows you
to build "templates" you would use to pre-fill relatively static
parts of the form, or to start a form in one session, and complete it
later.
JetForm Inc. does offer a workflow solution which we might consider
as a second phase of the project if we think this phase one stuff
is totally cool.
We will be working all next week on one or more test cases, I invite
you or anyone you know who may be interested to;
1) Come to a show and tell at the end of the week to see the tool
and what we were able to do with it. 1:30 Fri Jan 22 238 Waterman.
2) Schedule some time during the week to play with the package
(call me).
Please pass on to anyone else you think might be interested.
Thanks.
