UVM's giraffe host and Banner Student Information System (SIS) will be
unavailable for approximately two hours tonight,
Thursday evening, January 7, 1999
from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
while new disk drives are added to the giraffe host.
This will affect all forms of access to the student information system:
 Web and Touch-tone registration for spring.
 Web access for course info, class lists, schedules,
This includes everything on the Registrar's web pages,
found by going to the UVM home page and choosing
"Offices and Services", then "Registrar";
or by going to:
 Telnet or dial-in to giraffe
In addition, UVM's "point-and-click" web access to the LUIS library system
will also be unavailable during this time.

As usual, once Banner SIS is again available, usage and PIN questions
should be directed to the Registrar's Office, [log in to unmask] or 656-2045.
