John:
I have no problem with the town collecting the tax, IF:
***We are properly compensated for the cost of collection, .5 of 1% will
not do
***We get to float the funds to earn some interest for a period of time
***The state sends out their own tax bill- let them get the heat
***Most importantly, the city should do its best effort to collect
the state tax but MUST NOT be responsible for delinquencies or be
required to make up these delinquencies to the state.
***Who will collect past due bills, and at what compensation?
( I know the last is a question, not a statement)
