Hi Patty
Had eleven E-mails on here today. THIS MUNINET IS GREAT FOR
SHARING INFORMATION -Don't you agree!
I, like Barbara Oles, agree that you don't waste
time (which we don't have much of) on the phone.
Hinesburg lister cards are accessible to the public
the same hours that my office is open. I also started
three binders that house every building permit issued
since July l986 when we started requiring CO's.
They are filed alphabeticly by owner/builder. We
have copies of all CO's and I do not find it a problem
in providing this information to researchers. Of course
we are very fortunate as our Listers/Planning/Zoning
offices work very closely with this office in a most
cooperative manner. We record all Municipal Actions and
index in our card files as all other land records.
I think it is imperative that everyone is on-line. Being
able to access this information is a great tool. It would
also be great that when the time comes for same day
voter registration, we would be able to just go to a keyboard
and plug in the name to a central office to know whether that
person is registered elsewhere.
Finally - are you going to Ottawa Patty? Looks like it will
be a great conference. If you are - give me a call. There are
seven or eight of us going from this area. I think we are going
to rent a van again and share the expense like we did to
Buffalo. Hang in there and make the other legislators hear
about what works "best for our towns, by our Town Clerks
& Treasurers.
Did you get much snow last night and today?
