GEMA (Ecologists Group Mayab) is planning with other local groups to "take
X'cacel" with a group of several hundred local children April 30! (April 30
in Mexico is the day of children.) The president of GEMA called me last
night because they need money to fix up the hut (palapa) that the sea turtle
biologists will use as a base camp, clean up the beach (since the beach has
been closed trash has piled up substantiality), transportation, etc. GEMA
and other groups are collecting money for this project; but it will take
more than they can collect locally.
        Sea turtle season starts May 1st at X'cacel.
        If you can help please send money directly to GEMA:

Convocatoria a la comunidad del Estado a través de los medios de
comunicación a la celebración del Día del Niño en Xcacel.

El objetivo fundamental de este evento que se coordinara con los gobiernos
municipales de Benito Juárez y Solidaridad, la Delegación de SEMARNAP y las
organizaciones no gubernamentales ambientalistas del Estado, es TOMAR
SIMBOLICAMENTE XCACEL Y EXIGIR SU PROTECCION.

Con la participación de las escuelas de Chemuyil, Tulum, Playa del Carmen,
Puerto Morelos y Cancun, planeta Limpio coordinara la limpieza de la playa.

El Grupo Gema coordinara la colecta, nacional, internacional y local de
dinero para la reconstrucción del campamento tortuguero que Sol Melia
destruyo hace un año, Se decidió que sea la sociedad quien reconstruya este
campamento e impedir que Melia  adquiera derechos, por lo que se requieren
$2000.00 USA (incluyendo los gastos de la campaña)
Se colocara el primer guano de la palapa y la sociedad tomara Xcacel
simbólicamente recuperando su Patrimonio.
