We use 93926 (Duplex scan of lower extremity arteries or arterial bypass
grafts; unilateral or limited study). What the physician codes I don't
know. I always document flow of the femoral artery and vein post injection
and the absence of flow in the pseudoaneurysm (hematoma at this point). I
also try to measure the mass in case follow up is done.

Subject: What's the magical CPT CODE for Thrombin Injection
For Steve Kang: At The University of Penna @ Presbyterian Medical
Center
Vascular Lab we have sucessfully performed 5 Thrombin injection for
pseudo
repair procedures in the past 3 months. (For anyone who can help):
We have
no problem with procedure, but we are having a trouble coming up
with the
appropriate CPT code. We have been using 76936 for Ultrasound
guided
compression repair of pseudos when we did compressions, but we are
presently
using 93926 when using the thrombin. Has anyone out there found a
magical
code?
