Reference Librarian

The University of Florida Health Sciences Center Library (HSCL)
invites applications for the position of Reference Librarian. The UF
HSCL supports the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Pharmacy,
Veterinary Medicine and Health Professions.  The Reference Librarian will
participate as a member of the HSCL Reference Education and Information
Management (REIM) team of 7 librarians. The position includes the
following responsibilities: provide information/reference services; teach
scheduled classes; assist end-users with searching the online public
access catalog, networked CD-ROM databases and other electronic resources;
perform collection development in reference and assigned subject areas and
provide library liaison services between the HSCL and one of the six HSC
colleges.

Qualifications:
Required: ALA accredited Masters Degree in Library
Science.  Knowledge of health sciences information sources; ability
to manage multiple priorities and tasks; excellent oral and written
communication skills; leadership and facilitation skills;
organizational skills; ability to be a flexible team member;
outstanding interpersonal relationship skills; strong service
orientation and ability to thrive in a changing environment.
Desired: Experience in providing reference services, user education
and database searching; understanding and experience with relevant
information technologies including the Internet; member or
provisional member of the Medical Library Association's Academy of
Health Information Professionals or eligible for membership within
the first year of employment.

Benefits and Salary: Salary commensurate with qualifications and
experience: $30,000 minimum. A comprehensive benefits package that
includes 22 vacation days and 13 sick leave days annually. TIAA/CREF
or other retirement options, usual insurance benefits,  no state or
local taxes.
