HELLO TO ALL
I would like to introduce myself to all of you on MUNINET. I am
Ann Slattery, and I am Assistant City Clerk in South Burlington, VT.
I have just gotten e-mail capabilities and am now connected to
MUNINET. I look forward to reading everyone's messages and ideas. Now
that you all have my address, I hope to hear from you also.
One thing that I am working on now that I would like to share
with you all is a Chittenden-Grand Isle Clerk's Association
meeting/seminar which will focus on land record recording; the history
of recording, why we record documents, how we record documents, what has
to be done by State Statue and law, etc. I have been in contact with
Attn. Jim Fry who has been teaching at Champlain College and Trinity for
quite awhile and really knows his stuff. He teaches para-legals how to
search and he also teaches law courses. He is very agreeable and quite
excited to help us out. He has offered us space at Champlain College and
his services free of charge. We hope to have a date set soon, sometime
during the first three weeks of October. I know Chittenden-Grand Isle
Clerk's Association will be there and I am hoping Franklin County and
maybe even Washington and Addison Counties will participate. I also plan
on inviting the Para-legal Association and other para-legals that are on
their own.
I am really excited about getting together and sharing ideas with
other clerks and the people who use our records, the para-legals and
attorneys. Please let me know what you think about seminars like this
one and other possible seminars on various other topics.
Would anyone out there like to attend? I will certainly keep you
posted.
Nice to meet you all.
Ann Slattery
