I made the switch after 10 years of scanning from the right side doing echoes
due to neck stiffness. Since I have been scanning from the left side, I do
not experience the same pain. I am short so I don't have to lay ( literally)
across a big person to do the apical views. It is also ideal for portables
because I can scan from either side. It took awhile to master the scanning
but I would not go back to scanning from the right side.
  Just my 2cents. Edna
