I work in a lab that the other techs scan from the side.  It was not a
problem for me and I don't have to rearrange the room.  My paitients just lie
with the head at the other end for Carotids and I pull the machine down. For
my Arterials, the patient has the head at the other end and the machine is
pushed up to that position.

I have gotten comments from previous patients that they prefer my scanning to
the other for the simple reason I am not stretching my arm across thier body
and face to scan.
