Dear all,

I am a student in fourht year Zoology and am currently engaged in a
project studying albacore tuna migrations. I am hoping to use laser
ablation to study oxygen isotopes of their dorsal spines. They lay down
incremental layers in these spines every year in the same fashion as a
tree. I am hoping to determine water temperatures for different years and
thus showing that they are moveing around a great deal.

Howevr i have not got the first clue when it comes to laser ablation, how it
really works, how i would analyse my results, what my results would look
like plus a thousand pther unknowns about it.

I am appealing to anyone who might know of any good material out there i
could read that would give me a good start on the subject. The material i
have read to date has been a little too much too soon for me to digest.
Anyone out there involved in any studies comparable to mine, i would
appreciate any help or criticism you might have to offer.

Kind regards,
Tighearnach
