Dear all, The isotope grapevine is humming (at least in the UK) and the rumour is that PDZ Europa is no more. It has ceased to be. It's a stiff. Allegedly, they went into receivership earlier this week and the receivers are looking for a buyer. Fat chance! In my private opinion this demise is more a reflection of the way the company has been managed and not so much a reflection of the instrument(s) per se. The 20/20 (later ABCA and ANCA) was a nice and stable machine at a reasonable price providing a good platform for C/N EA work and gas applications such as breath and water equilibration. Yes, it would have benefited from a bit of development work here and a tad of fine-tuning there but that falls under the heading of proper business management. So, I think it's a sad occasion since we are loosing what could have been a nice niche-market or niche-application IRMS and, hence loose customer choice when it comes to buying a new instrument.
