Download tweakuipowertoys, from the microsoft website, then install it and go to the taskbar and start menu and uncheck the enable balloon tips, this will deable the popups, and you won't see that message anymore. So if you are happy with just not seeing that message anymore that will work. >>> [log in to unmask] 1/6/2005 10:49:47 AM >>> Hi all, I've been working on this problem for more than a few hours so now I'm going the easy way - the list. I unboxed a new Gateway laptop yesterday, uninstalled Norton's Antivirus and installed the latest version of Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition. Since then, I keep getting an annoying pop up from the security center that I may be at risk. In the security center, I deselect the Virus Protection in "Change the way Security Center alerts me" and I also tell the security center that I have my own antivirus program that I'll monitor myself. On reboot however the message comes back and all of my options have been deselected! There is no apply now button. Any ideas how I can tell the security center to leave me alone? This is a stand-alone computer for a secretary. - Bryan Bryan Thompson Technology Coordinator Winooski School District Winooski, VT 05404 802-655-2555 Matthew Kihm IT Specialist / PC Coordinator [log in to unmask] 482-6260 ext 116 Hinesburg Community School 10888 RTE 116 Hinesburg, VT 05461
